Council's vote to fly Palestinian flag branded 'incomprehensible'

The Canterbury-Bankstown Council in Sydney's south-west has unanimously agreed to fly the Palestinian flag in a move that has been branded 'incomprehensible' by Jewish leaders. Labor councillor Karl Saleh put forward a motion on Tuesday evening calling for the flag to be flown from both the Paul Keating Park in Bankstown and the Campsie Administration building 'in support of the Palestinian people'. The move has been met with condemnation from Jewish leaders in the wake of the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas that killed at least 1400 Israelis.
